Walking holidays at Mount Latemar – at the farm Stuppnerhof with private alp
For an exciting walking holiday around Mount Latemar the farm Stuppnerhof in Obereggen is the ideal starting point. It lies at an altitude of 1,550 meters at the foot of the Latemar and owns a private alp. In a fantastic location at an altitude of 2,000 meters, the farm Stuppnerhof owns seven acres of pastures. You can start from the farm and walk to the Ega Alp – on the way you will come by the alpine hut belonging to the farm. A separate forest with a rich stock of spruce, larch and pine is also part of the farm Stuppnerhof. The wooden floors of the apartments and the furnishings of the rooms were made of the wood from that forest.
Nature experience: a hiking holiday in the World Heritage
Since 2009 the unique landscape of the Dolomites belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The striking rock formations are among the most attractive hiking areas in the South Tyrolean Alps. An unforgettable atmosphere will enchant you during a hike around the Catinaccio. The walking path- about 11 kilometres long – takes you to an altitude of more than 2,000 meters. It offers a fascinating view on Lake Carezza: The reflection of the Latemar in the clear, cold water. You can reach Lake Carezza from Obereggen in about 3 hours on a leisurely hike through the famous forests of Latemar. Walks to the Ega Alp lead across lush green meadows and past shady pine forests. On the way back to your holiday accommodation at the farm Stuppnerhof you will walk past the grazing cattle and the pasture of the farm.
